What a great Q1 it was for our Impact Kids, getting into a passion area for all of them - ANIMALS!

1Q 2026 Animals Theme Highlights

First, the kids enjoyed a tour and a private educational session with the Humane Society of Greater Miami, learning about how individuals and our communities can help stray dogs and cats and help them find a loving home.

At the Impact Pod meeting, the kids reflected on their experience there as well as discussed the broader animal theme and their learnings to date. We were fortunate to have a special expert speaker on animals join us, Kim Collini, Senior Director for the World Wildlife Fund, who took us all through an amazing presentation on global animal conservation efforts. A wonderful discussion ensued and was complemented by the perspectives and insights of a few community observers. Following the discussion, the three young ladies presented on their individual quarterly projects, featuring The Hope for Animals Foundation, Paws 4 Hope, and the Zoo Miami Foundation. Each project and presentation was very well crafted and delivered. At the end of the meeting, Impact Kids Miami agreed to distribute $1,500 to the three organizations, $500 each.

The final discussion was on our next theme, and it was decided that “human impact” will be our area of focus for 2Q 2026. We set May 16 as our next impact pod meeting and will be working towards some meaningful action and impact in this area.
