And We’re Off!

Launching… Impact Kids Miami

It’s been quite an active period since soft launching earlier this summer. First, Impact Kids Miami is officially a Florida Non-Profit Corporation in good standing. We’ve taken the steps to develop our By-Laws which we unanimously adopted at our September 5th board meeting. We’ve officially voted on our officers and director roles, and have agreed on a 3-phase growth plan. Furthermore, the IKM Donor Advised Fund has been established and we are now in a funding and investing mode.

Most importantly, we held our first organized service project on International Coastal Cleanup Day at Vizcaya Gardens (an amazing morning), and then held our full introductory meeting with the founding kids. The kids had an amazing time picking up over 11 pounds of plastics and trash in the mangroves, wooded areas and gardens.

For the kids launch, we hosted a two-hour meeting in a Miami business office room, which included reflections on the ICC service project, a “Helping Hands, Helping Hearts” exercise, the reading and discussion of values and impact learned from the book, Ordinary Mary, Extraordinary Deed, a discussion on philanthropy, the formal introduction of the organization to the kids, and finally a cards exercise focused on identifying each kids’ priorities from a causes standpoint. We concluded the meeting with an IKM team cheer and left so excited for our kids to begin their philanthropic journey!
